Hi there! This is Yashas and Prajval, the duo behind House of Microgreens, based in the city of Bengaluru. Our journey began long before this venture—back in 2019, we launched a farm-to-table model, delivering fresh vegetables directly to customers. It was a fulfilling experience, but as we delved deeper into the world of farming, we encountered unsettling truths about conventional agriculture.
The fast-growth chemicals, pest-control boosters, and other shortcuts being used in mainstream farming made us question everything we thought we knew about the food we eat. While we hold immense respect for farmers and their tireless efforts – the backbone of our country – we recognize that challenging circumstances often leave them with no choice but to rely on such methods. Our intention is not to demean their work but to address these systemic issues and offer a cleaner, more sustainable option for nourishment. Determined to find a better way, we continued our journey until 2024, when a spark of curiosity brought us to microgreens.
What began as a simple internet search on nutrient-rich foods turned into hours of research, countless experiments, and an obsession with perfecting the art of growing these tiny powerhouses. We started small – one tray in a room. Today, House of Microgreens is a growing movement for clean, nutritious eating.
